F vs T Showcase FAQ
(2010) When is the showcase?
The 2010 Florida vs Texas High School Football Showcase will be held on Friday September 10, 2010 & Saturday Septemeber 11, 2010. Games will be played at the DeSoto Eagle Stadium 600 Eagle Dr. DeSoto, Texas (Capacity 10,000, Turf surfaces) and the game time starts Friday September 10, 2010 7:30 PM and concludes September11, 2010 11:00 AM to 11:00 PM.
(2010) Where is the showcase and where are the games played?
The 2010 Florida vs Texas High School Football Showcase will be held at DeSoto Eagle Stadium, DeSoto, Texas. Also, directions and other information will be provided on the C&B National Sports Marketing Group website www.candbsports.com
(2010) Is there a registration fee?
No, All schools (principal and coach) are required to sign a contract stipulating expectations of both the school and showcase. Once the contract is signed it is binding and any team dropping out after that is required to pay a drop out fee of $10,000.00. Also, once the showcase begins any team refusing to play a scheduled game is also required to pay the $10,000.00 forfeiture fee.
(2010) How are teams selected?
We have a selection committee comprised of the Showcase Director from C&B National Sports Marketing Group. We process all requests by finding out more about each school including: outlook for coming year, current record and ranking, classification, past history, past tournament play (record and conduct), common opponents from previous C&B(coaches comments and recommendations), potential college recruits, team support and potential fan attendance, travel considerations, etc. We analyze that information giving consideration to new requesters, following up on our leads by contacting schools that have infrequently or never participated in the showcase and establishing a rotation to invite back past participants. The previous year’s winners get an automatic invitation back.
(2010) Is the showcase sanctioned?
Yes, C&B National Sports Marketing Group Showcase are sanctioned by the FHSSA,University Interscholastic League and the National Federation of High Schools (NFHS). All participating teams are required to be members of the NFHS or an equivalent organization recognized by the NFHS.
(2010) If we’re unfamiliar with the area what does the showcase do to help us get around?
Volunteers are the lifeblood of making the C&B National Sports Marketing Group Showcase a premier event. Each team has two(2) individual team host who will be in contact before and during the C&B National Sports Marketing Group Showcase. The host will provide one-on-one assistance and make the coach's job at the showcase as easy as possible. They will help the team sign-in, give them player passes, directions and get the team to right locker room, to meal areas, and take care of questions, etc.
(2010) How can I find out who else is playing and what the brackets look like?
The field of teams will be listed on the website as soon as all are confirmed with an e-mail to alert coaches. Before this, on an individual basis selection committee members may be contacted to see who else in the showcase. The matchups will be posted on the C&B National Sports Marketing Group showcase website by June 11, 2010. The matchups will be posted as will the day's entire schedule.
(2010) Who officiates the games?
We have a contract with Desoto High School and University Interscholastic League who appoints and provides officials for all games. Officials are rotated with crews usually officiating two games a day.
(2010) What about inclement weather?
C&B National Sports Marketing Group will do everything possible to insure we stay to the planned schedule as possible.
(2010) Who has to pay to get in to games?
All media, players, managers, assistant coaches and coaches get a player/participant pass which of course lets them get into their game free. Fans, bus drivers, parents, players’ brothers and sisters, other family members, etc. must pay to get in.
(2010) Should we bring our trainer?
Up to you, training personnel are normally available during all games. Ice and the training room facilities are available to teams.
(2010) What about cheerleaders?
Teams are welcome to bring their cheerleaders and many do. All cheerleaders in uniform get into games free.
(2010) Do teams need to provide someone to keep the scorebook?
No. The C&B National Sports Marketing Group provides an official scorekeeper for each game. The showcase scorekeeper keeps the official showcase scorebook. Teams may bring their own person to keep their scorebook--in fact most do, and that is certainly welcomed. We will provide space as available for that person to keep their local scorebook.
(2010) Are game statistics or games summaries provided to coaches after games?
No. Room at the scorer's table or nearby as appropriate will be made available for individual team scorers to keep team statistics. Game scores with the winners and losers are updated on the official matchups posted in the stadium. Game scores, highlights and recaps when available are posted on the C&B National Sports Marketing Groups webpage at the end of the day. Go to homepage click on QuickScores in red and click on the game requested for score or summary.
(2010) Are games vidoetaped and are video tapes available to teams during or after the showcase?
Games are usually aired on the closed circuit television systems in the arena. The games are broadcast to common areas and hospitability rooms as appropriate.We are exploring streaming video on our webiste for selcted games. Each team is responsible for videotaping their games for their own personal use. No equipment is made available. Any tapes or DVDs for the 2010 showcase, if avaibale for sale, will be advertised at the memobillia area and promoted by the public address announcers.
(2010) Can teams make or bring banners or posters?
Yes,C&B National Sports Marketing Group welcomes banners as long as they are in good taste and appropriate they may be temporarily hung (using tape) in the arena. Teams will be expected to remove them at the end of the tournament.
(2010) Are Florida vs Texas T-shirts and other apparel for sale?
Each player and coach is given an offical Showcase T-shirt upon arival. Each head coach is given Florida vs Texas logo t-shirt. A limited number of Showcase T-shirts are sold at the stadium stands.
(2010) Will scores and game information be available timely on the website?
Yes, during the day and by the day's end all scores, scoring highlights and game recaps are posted on the C&B National Sports Marketing Groups homepage. Just go to game schedules and click on the game to see the information.C&B National Sports Marketing Group interns cover each game and report results. For teams whose coaches provide newspaper contacts to the C&B National Sports Marketing Group before the showcase, the C&B National Sports Marketing Group interns will arrange with these local newspapers to provide results and even articles or recaps of the games for publication.
